My lovely husband

This week I'm grateful for my lovely husband. We've just had a really nice few days away. I'm grateful that he found such a beautiful spot. We walked, we drank wine, we drank coffee, we sat by the fire and we just enjoyed hanging out together.

He also made me this yummy breakfast.

I'm linking in again with Saturday grateful at Maxabellas.

Kangaroo Valley

David and I just spent a relaxing 3 days in Kangaroo Valley. It is such a beautiful spot. We stayed in this lovely cottage, where there were lots of beautiful things to look at.

We went walking through paddocks...

and stopped in the village...
We even managed to find some people that we knew from 16 years ago who now live there.
It was very nice to get away.

Shadows and fences

I loved these shadows of fences and gates as I was walking around the streets near my place. I thought I would join with Shadow Shot Sunday today for the first time.

My suburb

This week I'm grateful for my suburb. I've heard about  52 suburbs, which is an exhibition of photographs taken very creatively of suburbs in Sydney. While I've haven't actually been yet, it got me thinking about how much I enjoy living in my suburb.

I thought I'd take the camera when I took the dog for a walk and take a few snaps of some interesting things on the way.

I don't usually take photos like these, so I was grateful for the inspiration. I'll try it again once I've been to see the exhibition.

I'm joining in being grateful with Maxabella.

I think black has to be next in my colour series of photos.

( Nick took the photo of the moon)

I'm thinking cerise or turquoise next, or perhaps gold or silver.

I drive past this brickpit dozens of times each week and always think it would be great to photograph. It's being built into an enormous housing development with hundreds of new dwellings, but the main building has been heritage listed- which I'm pleased about.

Grateful for Roses

I thought these roses in my front garden looked stunning the other day in the morning light.

I'm grateful to the people who lived in our house before us who planted them.
I'm also grateful that after nearly 10 years of minimal care they still are growing and flowering so beautifully.
Finally I'm grateful for one last flourish of flowers before it gets too cold.

Autumn reflections.

I love the late afternoon light, but am often busy taking children places or starting dinner or a million other things and I often don't think to get the camera out. So, a few days ago while the kids were busy jumping on trampolines and watching tv I took these photos.

The photos are from my back yard looking into our glass doors. I'm not sure that I love these photos but I do like how clear the reflections are, and in the last one I like that it's hard to tell which bits are reflections. Anyway, i thought I would link up with weekend reflections.
