stills:: this week

:: an autumn walk, looking up
:: some early flowering jonquils
:: a school excursion to the schoolhouse museum, a maypole dance & an old spelling chart
:: currently reading 'Les Miserables', such a beautiful story of love & redemption, but I'm struggling. I'm up to page 5 hundred & something and I'm only half way through!
:: got stuck in the rain during the week & bought a pink umbrella for $9.95
:: a cooler morning ritual, Charlie & Poppy sitting by the heater before getting ready for school.

  2. Love how you processed the maypole and school chart in B&W! It makes them timeless! I haven't seen a maypole dance since I was in elementary school, many, many years ago!!

  3. Love that single autumn leaf - a message of persistence. And you, with your pink umbrella - stunning selfies.

  5. This is a great group of shots. I like looking at the images and then getting the explanation below. Gave me a chance to think what I wanted about the image. Cool. Looks like a great week. I think the book and glasses is my fave-and bless you on the many many pages. I'm reading a 600 page book now and bogged down in the low 400's. Got to keep going.

  7. I have bought so many umbrellas whilst caught in the rain, but none as lovely as yours (just sad cheap-o ones, but I now have a polka dot one that I love [although I have already had to replace it once]).

    Great photos as always, and love how pets always gravitate towards the heater!

    Have a great week :)

  11. Beautiful photographs. I especially love the jonquils - they remind me of where I grew up in the Adelaide Hills.

  14. I´m particularlly drawn to the first one. There´s something fragile and extremelly lonely about it!

  15. Such a gorgeous lone Autumn leaf, the most gorgeous symbol of the changing times and good on you for working through 'Les Mis', it's on my one day to read list, but it always a little too daunting.

  16. It must be the season for big books. I'm on page 689 of an almost-1200 page book. Being the bookaholic that I am, I have three others in progress as well. As for "Les Mis", I saw the recent movie but have never attempted the book. I like your pink umbrella. I haven't had my beautiful umbrella open once since I moved here a year ago.
