"A good photograph is knowing where to stand" Ansell Adams.

My sister in law is passionate about vintage and recycled things. She is very creative and makes art from bits and pieces including old scrabble boards and tiles (among many other clever things). I asked her if I could photograph her doing her thing  because "people and their hobbies" is the subject of a challenge that I'm doing this month.

It was different to the sort of photography that I usually do- observational & spontaneous.
I had to set up the shot, be a bit of a stylist. I didn't find it easy at all. I guess that's why they call it a challenge.
These are some of the photos that I took the second time I went to visit her.

  1. Nice job, Leanne. I especially like the first one - the lighting is lovely and it shows a nice variety of the things she does.

  2. I like the last one best as it shows exactly what she is doing, great series of shots

  3. So nicely done, Leanne!
I especially like the last one.

  4. I can completely understand why this one was a challenge for you - I would be completely stymied by this challenge with its elements of people and styling. But I think you did a fantastic job at capturing the creative process at work.
