Parramatta river walk

A friend and I have decided to walk together once a month and explore the foreshore of the Parramatta river. Last month we walked from Meadowbank to Cabarita ( about 10 km) so today we caught the ferry to Cabarita and continued the walk to Abbotsford. It was a similar distance- maybe a little further- and we finished at the Sydney rowing club for lunch.

We walked around bays and discovered interesting bits of history about Canadians that were sent to New South Wales because of an uprising in Quebec in the 1840's. We found and walked through an old animal quarantine station. We walked through quiet streets and parks that we had never seen before. It was a really lovely walk ( although very hot!) and so nice to explore new places that are so close to home.

I took some photos along the way...

  1. Wonderful photos, Leanne! I love the swallows on the cable with the bridge in the background, and that gorgeous jacaranda tree with the lady with parasol walking underneath. What a lovely adventure!

  3. Beautiful, so nice to see your neck of the woods. A total contrast to our dull grey and increasing cold weather! Love those boats.
